Nuit Blanche (withe Night)

Iconuit Live with culture was the concept, for the Nuit Blanche Toronto has been divided into three zones encompassing more than 130 destinations.

Within each zone I found a mix of Nuit Blanche exhibitions, My Secret City exhibitions and Independent Projects.

The challenge is to explore them all in one night I had to ran!

Nuit Blanche Exhibitions
Individual exhibitions within each of the three zones have been curated exclusively for Scotiabank Nuit Blanche and feature a diverse range of Canadian and international artists.

Curators Fern Bayer, Peggy Gale and Chrysanne Stathacos link the present to a distant past still echoing through the Bloor-Yorkville neighbourhood.
Curator Kim Simon transforms the grand civic space of University Avenue and McCaul Street into a place of wonder.

Curator Clara Hargittay leads you on a journey of discovery of Queen Street West, from the region's historic aboriginal past to the present, finding common threads in Canadians' diverse experiences locally and beyond.

Nblogo My Secret City

Public space, through the private and sometimes secretive imaginings of the artist, is a site of transformation.

Discover My Secret City, an exhibition hidden inside the three event zones. Participate in uncovering secrets concealed by or revealed in the 20 artworks by Toronto artists, many of them the driving force behind the younger movement in the city.

Impromptu community is created by sharing secrets in the public sphere. The city as an open forum is a site of revelation, my secret city. Shhhh don“t tell anyone ;)

Independent Projects

Nuit Blanche includes close to 100 city-wide destinations featuring an exciting variety of Toronto's cultural and art venues, educational institutions, art galleries and unique spaces.
Each partner is opening their doors all night long, admission is free and many have collaborated with new and established artists to offer unique experiences.

From interactive video art, ghost tours and avant-garde film screenings to progression painting, shadow art, midnight poetry and unique music-making projects, these Independent Projects have made september 30 an unforgettable evening.
