Harrison Lake & Hot Springs

2_2There is so many things to do in this petit resort town that you may have to make a schedule to manage your time wisely. Known as the home of a large mineral hot springs at the south end of the lake. You will find museums, theme parks, hotels, spas, shops, festivals, restaurants, beaches, an international sand castle contest, wind surfing, sailing, water-skiing, canoeing and more. Camping sites are on the east side of lake.

HR Macmillan Space Centre

1_2One of the best planetariums in North America. Aside from the planetarium and observatory, it also boasts the Cosmic Courtyard hands-on gallery, a Virtual Voyages full-motion simulator, GroundStation Canada exhibits and multimedia and popular laser shows. Its overnight adventures and space camps are popular. Don't forget to visit the gift shop with space-related souvenirs. Definetly a MUST if you are spending your vacations in Vancouver.

Shadbolt Centre for the Arts

Can6This centre is named in honour of renowned artist Jack Shadbolt. Inagurated in November 1995 as a performance and teaching centre for the visual arts, theatre and dance. In order to better accommodate the more than 8,000 arts enthusiasts who take part in its programs, classes and workshops, it added multi-use studios and a second theatre. Designed by internationally renowned Hotson Bakker Architects.

That pretty much sums up what you will find at Wreck, everyone's friendly and enjoying the beach and the sunshine. Occasional fire performances after dark. Bring the kids and go to the toddlers' play area or kids' lounge. There is also an art gallery, public readings, speakers and seven storeys of books to browse. There are shops and cafes at the entrance so, if you get hungry or in need of a souvenir you don't have to leave but remember to wash your hand before touching any books!
